Forschungsdaten zwischenspeichern
Anyone generating or working with research data needs storage space. ZIM services can often assist with this.
sciebo
The statewide campus cloud system, sciebo, is available for use by staff, students, and research projects. Research projects can obtain shared storage space, and even individuals from outside the university can be invited to collaborate. Backup coverage on sciebo is very limited.
*fs1
ZIM operates file servers for data storage. On a Windows workstation, the allocated storage area can be mounted like an additional drive. The service is also compatible with Linux and macOS. Backups are performed. Processing of personal data is permitted within the scope of legal regulations. This service is available exclusively to staff of the University of Wuppertal.
The asterisk in *fs1 is a wildcard symbol; the actual server name is longer, e.g. homefs1. The homefs1 file server is intended for personal staff data, such as certificates and documents related to business trips. Other file servers are available for use by groups. These are the appropriate location for project data, as homefs1 grants access only to you, and no one else.
